Osmometers fall under COM.40300 Verification of Test Performance Specifications – FDA cleared/approved Tests. Advanced Instruments’ validation services are based on guidance in COM.40300. Osmometers do not fall under COM.40350 Validation of Test Performance Specifications – Modified FDA-cleared/approved Tests and LDTs.

FAQ 2:

How many replicates should I perform per patient specimen?

It is up to each laboratory to determine and document the number of replicates performed per patient specimen. Advanced Instruments recommends performing two replicates per patient specimen as a best practice.
